WHERE DOES YOUR DONATION GO?
The Kapnek Trust has ambitious but attainable goals. We aim to maintain the falling rates of HIV transmission, while also reducing Zimbabwe's child mortality from 9% to less than 2%. We want to increase the number of early childhood education and health centers until every child has the opportunity to engage in this crucial development programming.
We intend to create additional rehabilitation training services until every disabled child has an opportunity for medical treatment, as well as continuing to support the Harare Children's Hospitals' efforts to become a world class training and treatment center. We know that these goals may seem unattainable, but with your help, they are well within our reach.

For a detailed description of each donation level, please see below.
FOR CHILD HEALTH & EDUCATION - $50
Kapnek Trust currently supports more than 150 preschools where 1000s of orphans and vulnerable children receive basic health care, nutritional support, immunizations and early childhood education in an innovative and United Nations award-winning program. A donation of $50 will provide a child with healthcare, a daily meal and a year of preschool.
WHEELCHAIRS FOR DISABLED KIDS - $250
A refurbished wheelchair is life changing for a child with disabilities and their families. With new found mobility the majority of these children are able to attend school programs and have a life outside of their home while their families can increase their ability to generate an income and improve their access to food.
MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH - $500
The Kapnek Trust is implementing a three pronged approach to improve maternal child health in Zimbabwe, through site support and training at Harare Children's Hospital, expansion of our Preschool Child-Health Program and improving maternal child health services at the many hospitals and delivery "polyclinics" we support, we are working to reduce the under five mortality rate from its current 8.7% to below 4%.
MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS - $1,000
The J.F. Kapnek Trust is committed to educating women in the medical sciences. To date, more than 35 doctors have graduated with support from the Trust, and many other women have become nurses, pharmacists and other medical specialists.
CHILDHOOD DISABILITIES PROGRAM - $1,500
As hard as we work to prevent disabilities at birth, there continues to be an overwhelming number of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities in Zimbabwe. With your donation we provide these children and their families with training and support through our satellite workshop program where parents learn how to care for their disabled children and become connected to other parents who create a community of support. In addition, we ship refurbished wheelchairs along with other assistive devices to Zimbabwe and give mobility to a child and their family.
RENOVATION OF A PRESCHOOL - $2,500
J.F. Kapnek sponsored preschools are established within existing primary schools. Volunteer community members then partner with a Kapnek construction team who oversees renovation of classrooms, and playgrounds. These preschools then become child health centers where we coordinate tri-annual health checks when nurses are brought from sometimes distant clinics to assess the children's health and give current immunizations; children also receive a daily meal of vitamin fortified corn soy porridge prepared by volunteer parents and a quality early childhood development program taught by trained early education teachers, to inspire their brilliance.
